Four Lions - nothing to do with English football/Zoos

Screened at Sundance last night, this is Chris Morris' first satirical full-length feature, based on some Muslim jihadists as they plot to bomb London. Never one to shy away from controversy, its bound to be achingly painful to watch in parts and will obviously infuriate a small sector of society who just don't see how he can find humour in such subject matter.

A comment piece in The Guardian today reads: "A friend who has talked to Morris says: "Chris has spent an incredible amount of time immersing himself in Islam, terror and counter-terror. He has toured Britain and met dozens of radicals, ex-radicals, academics, journalists, British Asians, has sat in on high-profile terror trials for weeks, read all the key texts and recent books, gone to innumerable public meetings, met with community groups, and made it his business to educate himself on the nature of fundamentalism. I don't know anyone who has spent more time learning and digesting these issues."

Personally, I can't wait to see it. It will be interesting to see how the mainstream media and in particular, Channel 4 (long-time supporters of his work), treat the guaranteed outpouring of fury from "Disgusted-from-Tunbridge Wells" Daily Mail readers and sympathetic critics alike.

Personally, I cant wait for February

Not my own I hasten to add. My first ink is still in the early planning stages. It will probably take the form of a food-stuff as my dietary habits are my only decisive love. Bar Mike Stengers (goes without saying).

Radical Friends

Are the duo Kirby McClure and Julia Grigorian (4realz??) - video directors extrodinaire. Their latest offering (latest being...erm...from last year) is for Yeasayer's awesome newbie, Ambling Alp.

Wonderous and melty and floaty and spacey and gooey pretty much covers it.

Their last effort was an interactive video for Black Moth Super Rainbow - equally ace - which you can find here

I does loveth Yeasayer AND this video. Lots. Love it with me.

What a BANGER from Sidney Samson. Thought it was dip/switch when I first heard the drum coda.

"Riverside motherfucker" has utterly different connotations in Cardiff let me tell you....
